How to get a copy/more copies of Incident Commander
You may be asking yourself right now, "How can *I* get a copy of this useful and engaging software?" U.S.-based public safety personnel can call the National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS) at 1-800-851-3420 and request it by product number NCJ# 217516. There is no cost for the software but there is a small shipping and handling charge.

You can also get a FREE copy by visiting your nearest NLECTC. For the Center nearest you, visit us on the web at www.nlectc.org.

We are also on the road with Incident Commander! Look for us at the US Attorneys' 2007 Gatlinburg (TN) Law Enforcement Conference May 15-17 and at IACP's 2007 LEIM Conference in Greensboro, NC May 22-24 and pick up a copy.

If you already have a copy of Incident Commander, as a public safety practitioner you may install it on as many public safety practitioners' computers as needed. NIJ has no restrictions against this and there are no licenses to purchase. The end-user licensing agreement (EULA) does restrict any modification to the source code as it is owned by BreakAway, Ltd., the software developer.

If you want to customize the software to the needs of your jurisdiction we encourage you to do so!! (That is different than modifying the source code.) We have even provided editor tools and a manual to help. Unless you changed the location during install, both can be located on your C drive, under Program Files/Incident Commander/User Manuals and Program Files/Incident Commander/IC_AreaMapEditor (or events or tacmap editors).

Thanks for visiting and please post additional questions to this site.
